The Nikon D3100 is HDMI compatible so you can connect your camera to an HD television to view your movies in full HD. The D3100 features a 14.2 CMOS sensor.

The Nikon D3100 has ISO 100-3200 sensitivity, with the versatility of effectively boosting ISO up to 12800. The records video in different HD sizes and frame rates.

The Nikon D3100 is a follow-up to last year's entry-level D3000. The D3100 includes continuous auto-focus, a special HD video-recording feature that no other D-SLR has yet to offer. Until today, D-SLRs could only auto-focus on command, but it was very slow since the camera's processor must capture image information, save it, display it on the LCD and auto-focus. The Nikon D3100 is able to accomplish this thanks to a new image processor called the Expeed 2, Nikon said, though no specific information was given about its CPU or clock speed.

Nikon D3100 features:

  • 14.2MP DX Sensor
  • 3" LCD
  • Live View
  • HD 1080p Video w/ Sound & Autofocus
  • 11-point Autofocus
  • 3 Frames per Second Shooting
  • ISO 100 to 3200 (Expand to 12800-Hi2)
  • Self Cleaning Sensor
  • EXPEED 2, Image Processing Engine
  • Scene Recognition System

The D3100 14.2 Megapixel DX-format CMOS Image Sensor, autofocus for vivid color, striking contrast and crisp detail and VR image stabilization to ensure the sharpest hand-held pictures and movies.
